The Kuna Summer Program Needs Your Help!

Get ready, get set, go!  The Ada County Boys and Girls Club is coming to Kuna!  Over 400 children from kindergarten through fifth grade signed up for the nine-week summer program to be held at Reed Elementary School.  A portion of the funding for the summer program is generated by the membership fees, but the vast majority of the program is funded by the donations of generous people who believe that children who learn the Club’s core values of respect, responsibility, and integrity are well worth the investment.  Over the next several weeks, the Kuna-Melba News will publish a series of articles letting you know how you can help.  Even in these hard times, everyone has something to give, whether it is time, talents, money, or extra items you’re not using at your home or business.

The Kuna Boys and Girls Club Steering Committee is pleased to announce that on Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m., in the parking lot of Paul’s Market, it will be accepting donated items for the summer program.  Committee members will be on hand to collect your items and issue charitable donation tax receipts.  This is your first opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the 400 children who have signed up for the program.  The following is a list of needed items, and if your curiosity and excitement about the program aren’t aroused already, reading this list will cure that.

If you would like to make a donation, but can’t make it to the May 16th event, you can call Brenda Blitman at 846-8495 or Belinda Gordon at 922-3454, and they will arrange to have your items picked up.  The Kuna Steering Committee is counting on all kinds of community support to make the summer program a success and lay the foundation for building the Club’s own permanent facility in Kuna.
