New "Hope Float" kicks off Great Dolphin Dunk Fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County

When:  Friday, July 17, 12:00-1:00
Where:  Roaring Springs Waterpark Endless River
What:  150 Boys & Girls Club members in Hope Float tee shirts float around Roaring Springs’ Endless River to put a face on the great cause the Dolphin Dunk raises money for

The Great Dolphin Dunk is one of the Treasure Valley’s most fun and successful fundraisers.  In the past eight years it has raised over $200,000 for the Boys and Girls Club of Ada County.  This year’s goal is to raise $20,000 to help serve the over 1,000 youth each day who visit the clubs in Garden City, Meridian and Kuna.

A new event called the Hope Float will kick off Great Dolphin Dunk sales on Friday, July 17th from noon to 1pm.  Dolphins will be available for purchase at Roaring Springs Waterpark or Boise-area Walmart stores from July 17-August 15 for $5 each or 3 for $10.

On Sunday, August 16 at noon 10,000 toy dolphins will be dropped in Roaring Springs’ Endless River for a race to the finish.   This year’s Great Dolphin Dunk prizes are:

1st Place – Roaring Springs 2009/2010 Season Passes for four
2nd Place – Free Dutch Bros. coffee for a year
3rd Place – Half day whitewater rafting trip for 8 with Cascade Raft & Kayak

Walmart is the 2009 Great Dolphin Dunk Presenting Sponsor.  Walmart has donated $4,000, and will sell dolphins at its three stores in Boise, Garden City, and Meridian.  Thank you also to media sponsors Idaho’s News Channel 7 and MIX 106.

Roaring Springs Waterpark is proud to help facilitate the Dolphin Dunk, and gives all proceeds to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County.  Roaring Springs also invites Club members who sell 25 or more dolphins to enjoy a free day at the waterpark, a fun opportunity many of them wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.
